A session is one conversation with one agent, running in one folder on one machine. Everything else in Ripul hangs off that idea, so it is worth doing one slowly before you do twenty quickly.
- Tap New SessionYou will find it on the Machines panel, and on each machine’s row. If you have pinned models, you get a circle per model instead — tap the one you want and skip the picker.
- Choose the machineAny Mac you have paired, plus any machine signed in to your account. A green dot means it is online right now.
- Choose the folderThis is the working directory the agent gets. It can see and change what is inside it, so pick the project you actually mean.
- Choose the agent and modelClaude Code or Codex, and which model it should run. You can change model mid-conversation later.
- Ask for somethingType, or hold the microphone and speak. Start small: ask it to explain a file, or to find where something is handled.
What you will see
The agent thinks out loud, calls tools, and reports back. Tool calls collapse into tidy rows you can tap open when you care and ignore when you do not. When it wants to do something consequential — write a file, run a command — it asks, and you approve or decline from the phone.
