Ripul

Getting started

About twenty minutes, once.

Ripul runs your agents on a Mac you own, so that is where setting up begins. After that, your phone is all you need to carry.

Put Ripul on your Mac

The fastest way is one line. Open Terminal (press Command-Space, type Terminal, press Return), paste this and press Return.

curl -fsSL https://demo.ripul.io/mac | bash

It installs Ripul Host, the app that runs your agents, and offers you Ripul, the app you talk to them in. Nothing to drag and nothing to approve. If you would rather download the apps, they are on the download page.

Sign in, and show it your agents

Sign in to Ripul Host with the account you will use on your phone. That is what makes the two devices one system.

Ripul works with the agents you already have. If Claude Code or Codex is on your Mac, Ripul Host finds it and shows a tick beside its name.

Get Ripul on your iPhone

The iPhone app comes by invitation, through Apple's TestFlight. Ask us for one, install TestFlight, and Ripul is a couple of taps away.

Sign in on your phone

Use the same Ripul account as on your Mac. Your Mac appears by itself, from wherever either of them is online. There is nothing to set up.

A work Mac and a home Mac can both be signed in at once, and each conversation picks which one it runs on.

Ask for something small

Start a new conversation, choose your Mac, the project folder and the agent, then ask. The best first question is one you already know the answer to, in a project you know well. You learn a great deal from watching how it handles something familiar.

Then lock your phone and walk away. The work carries on at home, and Ripul tells you when it needs you.

Good to know

Does my Mac have to stay on?

Yes. Your Mac is where the agents do their work, so it needs to be on and awake, with Ripul Host running. Add Ripul Host to the apps that open when you log in and it will always be there.

Which agents does Ripul work with?

Claude Code, Codex, Antigravity and Kimi today, with more to come. They share one way of working inside Ripul, and you can change agent in the middle of a conversation.

Where does my work go?

It stays on your Mac. The agents work on your own files, on your own computer. Your phone reaches the Mac either through Ripul, which needs no setting up, or directly, in which case your files, conversations and screen never touch our servers. You choose for each conversation.

Should I pair my phone directly with my Mac?

Most people have no need to. Signing in to both is all it takes, and every part of Ripul works that way. Pair directly only if your work is confidential enough that it must never pass through our servers. It takes some setting up, and a direct conversation goes without a few things: the terminal, plans and saved tools, inviting other people, and notifications. To do it, open Paired Phones in Ripul Host and Paired Macs on your phone, and scan the code.

Can I use it when I am away from home?

Yes. Signed in on both, it works from anywhere either device can get online, with nothing to set up.

Can more than one person use it together?

Yes. Invite a colleague into any conversation by email. They join that one conversation, can reply and direct the agent, and see nothing else of yours.

I am stuck. Who do I ask?

The guides inside the app cover every screen: tap the question mark beside any title. You can also read them here on the site, or write to support@ripul.io.
